چکیده

Ethanol, produced from biomass, is a renewable fuel that can be an attractive alternative to gasoline for the increasing concerns of energy security and environment. In present work, combustion characteristics ethanol (E100) fueled spark-ignition engine are compared with base fuel, consecutively evaluated cycle-to-cycle variations (CCV) parameters using statistical analysis. These investigations were performed on 250cc air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder port-fuel injection fuels. The was operated at 3500 rpm 4000 speed while maintaining same loads gasoline. It found results peak in-cylinder pressure (Ppeak) lower than given load. Ppeak decreased 27.5 25.5 bar when used in 9.8:1 compression ratio, rpm, 5 Nm Moreover, mass fraction burned air-fuel mixture faster as CCV Ppeak, location speed, indicated mean effective (IMEP) evaluated. result showed its lowered related A decrement coefficient variation (COV) 11.6% 8.3% 12.6% 11.7%, respectively, observed utilized instead This resulted decrease COV IMEP by 2.8% 0.25%, Nm. study indicate stability spark ignition better fuel.

Controlling Cyclic Combustion Variations in Lean-Fueled Spark-Ignition Engines

Under conditions of lean fueling or high exhaust gas recirculation, interactions between residual cylinder gas and freshly injected fuel and air produce undesirable combustion instabilities in spark-ignition engines. The resulting dynamics can be described as noisy bifurcations of a nonlinear map and are complicated by cylinder-to-cylinder coupling. We discuss the key dynamic features relevant ...

An Experimental Investigation of Spark Ignition Engine Fueled with Ethanol/Iso-octane and Methanol/Iso-octane Fuel Blends

Alcohols have been used as a fuel for engines since 19th century. Among the various alcohols, ethanol and methanol are known as the most suited renewable, bio-based and ecofriendly fuel for spark-ignition (SI) engines. The most attractive properties of ethanol and methanol as an SI engine fuel are that it can be produced from renewable energy sources such as sugar, cane, cassava, many types ...

Cycle-by-cycle Combustion Variations in Spark-ignited Engines

Under constant nominal operating conditions, internal combustion engines can exhibit substantial variation in combustion efficiency from one cycle to the next. Previous researchers have attempted to explain these variations as resulting from stochastic, linear, or chaotic physical processes. Our investigations indicate that cyclic combustion variations can be explained as the result of interact...

Time Irreversibility of Cycle-by-Cycle Engine Combustion Variations

Spark-ignition engines exhibit patterns of increasing instability as engine fueling goes from stoichiometric to lean. The observation of time irreversibility in cycleresolved combustion measurements indicates that this combustion instability is inherently nonlinear. Using time return maps and symbolic time-series analysis, we demonstrate the presence of strong time irreversibility in experiment...

Cycle-to-cycle Fluctuations of Burned Fuel Mass in Spark Ignition Combustion Engines

We examine a simple, fuel-air, model of combustion in spark ignition (si) engine with indirect injection. In our two fluid model, variations of fuel mass burned in cycle sequences appear due to stochastic fluctuations of a fuel feed amount. We have shown that a small amplitude of these fluctuations affects considerably the stability of a combustion process strongly depending on the quality of a...
